Friends,

Can a person apply for immigration and move to Canada to work before getting the immigration? In other words can we work in Canada during the processing of our case for immigration?

Only with a work permit. Depending on the job the employer usually must obtain a Labour Market Opinion from HRSDC that there are no Canadian/PRs available for the job before it would be issued.

good day,

thanks for this post AP im not goinbg to reply to your inquiry, but yet im going to add to it, im in the same boat as you are, i have applied for federal skilled worker and my application is on going for 2 years now, recently i have a job offer from canada from an employer, my employer told me he can assist me with anything in order for me to work in canada with my family.

my inquiries are.

1. my employer said he will be issuing me LMO (labor market opinion) in order for me to get a work permit. what must he do in order to get me a job offer which i can submit to the embassy and be considered a job offer?
2. he (employer) told me that my application is a "family status", i dont know what the hell that is??? coz he old me that i can get my family "IN TIME" again its not clear to me as to how long im going to wait to get my family, or bring them with me.
3. he is also suggesting that i widraw my application as a federal skille dworker and go ahead with my work permit (family status) so that there will be no conflict with regards to my application... is that true? again please give me suggestions on this
4. lastly can knowledgable people please give me suggestion/s wether i push thru with the work permit job offer or stay here in my countqy and wait for my federal application to come..

thanks and good luck to all of us

1. The employer applies to HRSDC for an LMO, once the employer has the LMO, s/he sends you a copy and you then apply for a work permit.
2. There is no such thing as family status, your prospective employer is blowing smoke, if you are issued an LMO and are able to get a work permit, you can include your family in the application.
3. Why would withdraw your skilled worker application? You employer can apply to HRSDC for an Arranged Employment Opinion and you submit that to update your SW application. The AEO states that once you arrive as a PR, your employer will hire you permanently.

Markus,

I thought I answered your question in another forum, which I had numbered 1 -7: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/clarification-and-inquiry-t5276.0.html;msg13898#msg13898

It's a dirty shame that you have to waste my time by being not only an ingrate but also by possessing a wishful self-destruct impulse with regard to withdrawing your Skilled Worker Application - by all means, feel free to do so; after all it's your life and your decision to make.

You can post the same question as many times as you feel insecured to do so; at the same time, I can express what I think after expending my time to respond to an initial post of yours.
