Hello everyone

I am planning for immigration to canada with my family. Some of my friends suggest me that I should apply for the PR for my entire family that's what I am planning but the issue is that once we get the PR should my entire family enter canada immediately or first I can enter canada And then find a job, open a bank account, rent an apartment then call my family. Within how much time my family have to enter canada once their application approved.

By entire family assume you just mean spouse and kids ?

As The primary applicant assume you must land either first or with the family members on the application. The family members cannot land before the primary applicant but can travel later.

Other can correct me as guidelines keep changing but COPRs generally have an expiry date based upto 12 months from the medical exam so is variable but applicants should plan to arrive before the COPR expiry date. Sure there are special COVID rules currently to extend the expiry date due to travel restrictions but nobody should plan on that process being in place for ever

So your plan to arrive first could work as long as you keep in mind your families COPR expiry date.

We can all hope that travel restrictions and quarantine requirements are relaxed by sometime in 2021 by time your application may have been processed given that adds unpredictable challenges with immigration

Just to add, before looking for a job and signup provincial health care, find an airbnb or temporary place to live.
