Hi, I'm really new to this site, i have a friend in the states who was sentenced to be deported about 11 years back (due to a criminal offense), but was not deported until very recently. I wanted to know if there is a way she can immigrate to Canada to live with family for a better life.. .. any advice?

i dnt think the deportation matters but when the cic performs a police check, then they will have to assess the severity of the crime committed.
based on which, they will decide.
what was the crime?

It was a drug charge, I'm not sure exactly right now what it was but it had to do with trafficing and posession of drugs. I can find out exactly what the charges were though..

Your friend must apply for pardon. It will take at least 1 year, cost about $1,000. and no guarantee of success.
