I have been trying to fill this section since 1 week and is driving me craaaaaaazy !!
Could you please answer below questions:

1. No.of Years in school in India, is it 10?
2. Type of certificate, Field of study to put in for my intermediate and 10th class, there is no enough space.

Indian people who have already filed PR under CEC, could you please advise the correct way to fill this section.

Let me know your schooling style? Choose from the below or advise if its not listed below.

1. 10th(SSC)+ Intermediate+Grad+PG?
2. 10th+12th+Grad+PG?
3. 10th+12th+ Polytechnic+Grad+PG?
4. 10th+polytechnic+Grad+PG?

See if the below explanation helps.

Upto 10th- Secondary Schooling
12th/Polytechnic/Intermediate - Higher Secondary ( to be considered for "Post secondary" count)
Gradudation - Any degree that starts wtih B.... B.Sc/BA/B.Com/ B.Tech/B.E etc...)
Post Grad - Any degress that starts with M or PG... M.Sc/MA/M.com/M.Tech/M.E / or PG Dip in so and so..)

1. Shouldn't be hard to count, you probably started at age 5/6 went to elementary then to Secondary then to University. So count the years between when you started and when you went to U.

Hi there,

Saw your details. Fill in the details as below.

1992-2002 --- Secondary Schooling -- Your school name & address.....
2002-2004 ---- Intermediate--- your college name & address --
2004-2008 - Graduation--- B.Tech .. Field of study should be Electronics and Communication Engineering ... if there is no space in application, put a star mark in front of ECE and expand the * with complete name below the table, using a pencil.
2010-2012 --- Mention the college name and course name ( good in the pic).

@ cecapp369 : I have done Intermediate after my 10th class, then Engineering ( B.tech ) and lastly Diploma in Canada.

My main concern is 3rd and 4th columns in the table.

1.What do i write under Type of certificate for Secondary school, intermediate - Can i just write SSC and BIE. BIE stands for Board of Intermediate Examiniation.

2. What do i write under filed of study for Secondary school and intermediate ?

3. Can i use pencil/Pen as you mentioned? is it OK?

4. Short forms are allowed? like Adncd Diplm, Comp science - becauase i have no more space left. How did you guys manage to fill this section?

1992-2002 HPS Hyd, AP, India Secondary Schooling Certificate Write with pen or pencil -- Maths, Physics and Social Studies
2002-2004 Sri Chaitanya Hyd, AP, India Board of Intermedaite Education Write with pen or pencil -- Maths, Physics and Chemistry
2004-2008 JNTU Hyd, AP, India Bachelor of Technology Write with pen or pencil -- Electronics and Communication Engineering
2010-2012 U Of T Toronto, Canada Advanced Diploma Computer Science

No harm using a pen or pencil to elaborate the abbreviations.

I discontinued 11th standard and Joined Diploma, So I lost 1 year. Should I be showing the break of 1 Year ?
If so how do I mention it ?
Eg :
1995 06 to 1996 04 School name , City , Secondary - Detained , Computers (Will this be ok ?)

My husband whose Egyptian wants to know what he would put in Field of Study for primary/elementary school and secondary as there was not a specific field until he reached high school (grades 10-12).

Also, for university, he finished one year in the Arts department. For that, would he want to write "no degree"?
