It's quite confusing what to fill in this section....

I am from India, and secondary is 10th grade, 12th is Senior Secondary for us. I am engineering graduate with 4 years program.

so my question is, m i filling correct with my assumptions:

elementary 5 years(1st to 5th)
Seconday/High School 7 years(6th to 12th)
Post Secondary 4 years(Engg degree)

So total 16 years.

If I fill above , I am confused what to fill in the detail section....where they ask to provide secondary and post secondary education details.... for example:

this is what I understand as per Indian way, if secondary and post secondary details are required.
2005-2009 B.E.
2004-2005 12th Senior Secondary
2002-2003 10th Secondary

or

2005-2009 B.E.
1998-2005 Secondary/High School(As I mentioned 7 years for my High school education above so considering all 6th to 12th grade.

Please suggest?

To my understanding, you are correct as to what mentioned below
It should be like this -
10 Years - Elementary/Primary School
2 Years - Secondary School
4 Years - College.
But still would like to confirm from senior members of the forum.

so r u counting 1st to 10th as elementary? isn't 10th considerably High/Secondary school?

In India, elementary schools provide education from Class 1 to Class 8. The children in these classes are generally aged between 6 to 14 years. Elementary school for younger children

Although I was looking for the exact figure...I can see here many Indian guys who have received AOR or even PR so there application was accepted, hope to hear back from them....I look forward for their answer...........

I saw another buddy asking the same question and he also didn't receive any reply so far.

My application is pending because of this last week, based on what I read on wikipedia about education classification in Canada, I am filling:

Elementary/Primary as 8 years(1st to 8th Grade)
High School as 4 years(9th to 12th)
University degree 4 years(Engg Graduation)

hey frndz, m also stuck on the same question that is no. 7. for Education filled. first Elementary/Primary School, Secondary/High school, university/College and what is this Trade School or other post secondary school? Nd what to write in this Trade school box?

Then in the table below what we have to write in the Type of certificate or diploma issued for each category? And Field of study column?

This is what i did
Elementary/Primary as 10 years(1st to 8th Grade plus 2 years prior to 1st grade like Jnr & Snr here)
High School as 4 years(9th to 12th)
University degree 4 years(Engg Graduation)

I haven't received AOR yet (applied just 3 weeks back) but i checked the same with my friend who got his PR already. As per him Elementary/Primary number of years is not that important because each country has their own system to count number of years. So it's not matter much wether you write 8 or 10 but high school & university degree should be 4 years each in my/your case.

thanks for the reply nick_ind, now thing is that if i put the things according to you it would be like this:

Elementary/primary : 10 years
high school: 4 years
university/college: 5 years as per mine case (Bsc (3 years) + Msc (2Years))

bt some buddy told me that we don't include our KG or LKG years. Plz tell me about this. nd have u left Trade School box blank in the application?

Nd what to mention in Type of certificate nd Field of study column?

I am totally new, filling the application by myself so plz guide me or if any one can send me the complete package which they hv filled recently, that would be very helpful.
