I'm sponsoring my husband who is American, but currently is on a student visa and residing in Canada. I'm trying to complete his P.R....
About 20-15 years ago he was arrested and detained on three different occasions in the States. Two of the charges were dismissed and dropped, and one of the charges he was found guilty and served community service etc. I read through all the guides, and to my interpretation, since he's in currently in Canada (was allowed to cross the border into Canada), I don't need to apply for Rehabilitation? Just to clarify, do I need to fill out any specific form regarding this???
The only place where I found that I need to explain his past is in the form IMM5669 - Question 4 (j) and to provide details in the box at the end.
Could someone please give me insight if I have this right? Thank you!!!

Also! Would I check of (yes) for Question 4 (b) as well? (b) been convicted of, or are you currently charged with, on trial for, or party to a crime or offense, or subject of any criminal proceedings in any country? Because he was found guilty on one charge (15 years ago)?

Was he asked whether he had a criminal record of any kind and if he was asked did he say 'yes'?
Given the time elapsed, you probably do not need to apply for Rehabilitation as enough time has passed for deemed rehabilitation.

Yes
