Can someone help? I don't even understand what an undertaking is.. I am trying to sponsor my wife for permanent residency. she is currently on an extended visitor's visa. this is what I have for the questions requiring numbers
question 4:1, question 5a: 1, 5b (I) 1 (im assuming I have t0 count the visitor visa extension?) and zero for the rest giving me a total of 3. is this correct?

Question 4 is for you as a sponsor
Question 5(a) is for the sponsored person(applicant)
Total is 2 if the sponsored person has no dependant. I assume that you dont have any previous sponsorship so queation 5(b) is not applicable to you.

An undertaking is the contract that a sponsor signs with the government of Canada to be responsible for the applicant once they land as a PR. For spousal sponsorship, the undertaking is 3 years.

There is no undertaking for a visitor extension app.
