Hello,

I am trying to sponsor my parents and I have a dependent and also I have a common in law which we are common in law for a year. He has two dependents. I am wondering if I need to add him as a co-signer to my application. I have enough income for 4 people (My parent, I and my daughter). Do I have to add him since we are commonin law?

Thanks

If you have a common law partner, then you do not have enough income on your own to sponsor your parents if you only have LICO for 4 people.

Do you have enough income to cover 7 people if your common law partner is a co-signer? That's the only way this is going to work.

If I understood it correctly since I have a common in law partner, him and his kids consider as family members in my application and our total income should be enough for 7 people? We've been common in law for a year how about 2019 and 2018 that I was on my own? Do I need to complete anotherIMM5768 form separately for 4 people? Sorry I am confused

No, you need to show the sufficient earnings to support 7 people for 2019 and 2018.

Also if he co-signs then he takes on responsibility for your parents for the next 20 years too.

Thank you for letting me know, It just didn't make sense me to add him and his kids to 2018 and 2019 as my family members as we weren't common in law partner. It's really confusing.

It's called common law partners. His parents may be your in-laws.... via common law.
