CONSENT TO DISCLOSE

13. If there is an investigation into marriage fraud about you, do you consent to CIC and CBSA releasing the results to your sponsor?
No

Yes

(I found the following in the instruction guide for this form):

Check “Yes” or “No” to indicate if you consent to the results of a marriage fraud investigation being released to your sponsor.

Consent provide [typo, should be provided] for this question is voluntary. If consent is not provided, you [another typo, should be your] application will still be processed and this will not have a negative impact.

So my question is has anyone answered no?

Even though this question doesn't seem to pertain to me, I chose yes as my answer, as I have absolutely nothing to hide here.

Did anyone else find this question...odd? Seems like there should have been a third option...N/A.

This is a new question that appeared on the form only as of Sept 2013. My husband answered yes as well. I don't really know the hidden meaning behind the question.

Yeah, it's worded in such a way that isn't exactly clear to me.

"If there is an investigation into marriage fraud about you..."

Does that mean is as in, currently or is as in someday?

I guess for reasons unknown, they chose not to say "If there is an active investigation..."

Personally, I think if you are under investigation for marriage fraud, your sponsor is likely already aware that you weren't quite truthful, eh? :)
