Hello all,

Please help me with this question:
I don't really understand q#6 a) Was your marriage arranged?

Does it mean we plan for a wedding, marriage ceremony, etc.?
or does it mean we get marriage is not genuine, or without love, but for legal purpose only?

I just affraid that i misunderstand the meanning of this question and give wrong answer

Thank you!

I'm an Indian and arranged marriages are common. My interpretation is did somebody, like family, introduce you and your wife? If so, that would count as arranged marriage, in my opinion. In my situation I found my wife myself as we met online. So in my case it was not arranged....got it? :)

Hi

I'll just clarify a bit. It's not considered arranged if someone introduced you to your spouse, as many people are introduced to their partners by family or friends.

Arranged means that someone else (usually parents or other family members, sometimes a "matchmaker") essentially CHOSE your spouse for you. They got together with the family of the intended partner and decided that the 2 should get married. The arranged couple quite often have minimal contact before the actual marriage.
