Keep in mind that’s just a guess. I would think the time it takes to get a result depends on a lot of factors, but the strength of a basis if claim would make a decision easier (ie: Syrian refugees a few years ago vs Haitians crossing illegally). Syrians were obviously at risk due to war while Haitians were likely running from the expiry of their temporary status in the US for a natural disaster.
