My aunt would be my employer supposedly in Canada and I'll be working as a live-in caregiver. However, I just found out lately that I'm pregnant and she's currently processing my papers or should I say application. Will they still grant the application? I am really worried.

Hi,

I am not sure whether they would give you the visa. Once I phoned the cic here and they said that they are very skeptical about employing relatives as a live-in-caregiver. But you know, never know until the papers are processed. It depends on a lot on the immigration officer. Do they know that you are pregnant?

If you get here, you have to make sure you have the OHIP card (health card )otherwise delivering a baby here in Canada is around $10,000. It takes 3 months to receive it, after you get here. So make sure you have it, otherwise it is going to be a lot of expense for you right at the start.

Good luck!
Susan
