Hi All,

My brother has attempted ILETS thrice and could not get anything more than ILETS 5.5 ..
he is not ready to attempt aagain so i want to know what are our options.

Can we apply for a certificate course under SSP. he has a BCA degree
Can we apply in general quota?

Please advice

whats BCA???? hey check out university of alberta.. degree konsi univ sai lee hai yaha pak mai.. univ of alberta dont require ielts or toefl...jux english proficiency letter frm ur univ...

dont know wts spp lolz... bt if toefl or ielts is the problem then go for University of Alberta... No toefl or ielts required.. google it.. it ranks 58 in the world..

brother chances are very less
in spp they are strictly highlighted 6 band are mandatory ,so u have to sit on the ielts again if u wna ur dream comes true

Some college may accept this score for undergraduate or diploma. This score will have a negative effect in the visa office.

Ielts is such an easy test. He did his bachelors. Im sure instruction was given in english he could also read books in the language . Such language proficiency tests are easy peasy for university graduates. He needs to improve his overall language skills. Don't mess up with your application with low Ielts score.

Well thats my big issue .. i dont know why in the world is he getting 5.5 with such a good english speaking skills.
I guess academic module is much harder than general ..

we are now going to try NZ not canada. Eventhough i would to have him here in canada where rest of our family stays.

My own experience that TOEFL is much easier as it is designed much better. IELTS is also very easy but there is an element of unpredictability and some time even if you are well prepared you may get bad result. In the case of TOFEL this unpredictability is not there and with good preparation you can get the desired results.

If he could not score band 6 in three attempts. Then test format is not an inssue here. His language skills need a drastic improvement. 3 months intensive study can improve one band.

Yeh you are right but also keep in mind he do not have to break a world record for these score. The minor difference could be achieved either by trying TOEFL or prepare IELTS as Nazia has suggested
