Hello Everyone,

I applied under CEC last year June, but got rejected because my job duties and titles are not match. I used the wrong NOC code. I asked my employer to change my title for me, and the job duties are still the same. Would that affect the decision? I've already submitted the second application in May.

Thank you.

I don't think so as long as the information you provided this time around is correct and valid. Mine got rejected last year as well and I reapplied this year in march but I haven't heard anything.

Thanks for your reply. It's quite stressful when the waiting time is so long. I guess you will hear something by the end of December. Wish you all the best and have a great new year.

No, it won't affect your next application. As long as the mistake has been corrected, if it was rejected due to an error on forms, or missing
documents.

Absolutely agree. Second application is not influenced by first rejection at all!

As long as this is the only reason of rejection and nothing else - no it wont matter. The only cases that get influenced are misrepresentation cases - not yours. Your case will be considered based on lack of knowledge or incorrect application.

As long as the reason for your rejection does not breach any immigration laws ie

- working without authorization
- Criminal record
- staying without authorization
you should be fine be just fine 8)

Second that. If you were rejected based on mistakes in your application, you'll be fine. If you were rejected due to inadmissibility chances are you will be rejected again.

hi,

would you post your job description, job title and noc that were rejected?

I'd like to compare it with mine where the company gave me a generic letter.

thanks in advance,
thanks for everyone's reply. Most of My job description fit into 1241 administrative assistant, but my employer wrote me as an executive assistant, which is 1222, and I used 1222 to apply. For my second application, I also asked my employer to explain that in my reference letter. I am worried that they probably think I am faking a title and reject mine again.

Title doesn't matter as much as the duties. As long as your duties match the NOC you apply under and the title is anywhere close, you'll be fine.

That's what the immigration lawyer told me, he said they shouldn't have rejected my case because my duties fit into 1241 although I applied under 1222.

this si not a good idea to reapply if nothing has changed.

If you applied as 6666 and you got rejected, you must not reapply with the same employment as 7777 and with different job description. how come you said you were a coder and now you say you were a network administrator??
I didn't change my job description, I just changed my title. The job description is still the same.
