He's probably heard the recent news about moratorium on issuing LMOs for TFWs in Fast Food sector.
Unless you work in that industry you are not affected, for now. Rest assured that changes to the TFW program are going to happen as the "outrage" doesn't seem to have slowed down.
You'll be fine. They're lifting the moratorium this month. But you won't qualify for SINP for at least another 2 weeks. There's a 6-month residency requirement and you just got here in January.

By "this month", I actually mean next month in June. It's the last day of May anyway, so we may as well say "this month". The government will close for their summer recess before the end of this month, so the moratorium will be over by then. As for the new changes that await the program, I have no idea what they will be. They shouldn't affect you since you're already in Canada though.
I'm not exactly sure how SINP will look at it. You have a valid work permit (which needed an LMO) so maybe they'll let you apply for SINP. It's probably best to wait until after the moratorium is lifted to send off your application. But it's really your employer who applies for your SINP. Ask your employer about it.
At SINP they don't even know which positions are affected (I'm not kidding). It doesn't matter at all, they just needed you to work more than 6 months here in a legal way (which you did/do). Just apply and you'll have no problem
my employer already applied sinp job approval letter for me which i need for sinp application
my employer already received confirmation for the processing about sinp job approval letter not didnt received yet the job approval letter
so my question is it can be bad impact of my sinp job approval letter application
please note my six month residency will be done next month ( june )
