If you get study permit and plan to change your university before landing canada

Hi all,

If someone gets study permit for one university, and meanwhile he gets admission offer from other more good university then what would be the procedure to pursue the study permit for that new university? Does he need to get the issued study permit cancelled and apply from scratch again? or the same study permit with some amendments from embassy will work?? Please guide.

If you are a Post-secondary student, you may change your school, program, field of study or level of study (e.g. from the Bachelor level to the Masters level) without applying for a new study permit. You do not need to apply for a change to the condition of your study permit, either. You may continue to use your study permit as long as it is valid.

However, you must notify CIC via your MyCIC account when you are transferring from one designated learning institution to another, even if it is at the same level of study.

For a Primary or High School student they need to re apply to modify the study permit
