I'm a Canadian permanent resident. I may have to leave Canada for a year or two due to family emergency. During that time, I may lose my PR status (I'm still checking this out - I will have the days (over 730) to renew but I won't be living/working in Canada during that time). In in fact that i do lose it, will I:
1) Still need to file taxes to Canada? I have various Canadian bank accounts earning interest and such. I also have RRSP and RPP
2) Have to get rid of whatever RRSP and RPP I have since I have no status in Canada any more (no citizenship, no PR, no nothing)
hopefully I don't have to leave Canada but I'm preparing for worst case scenario.
Thanks
