Hi there everyone,

Let's connect for the IELTS test on 25th March 2017. Please share your previous scores, how many attempts given earlier etc..

My wife is doing it also on 25th, second attempt.

The first one was:

L 8, R 8, W 6.5, S 6.5

For me it was:

L 8, R 7.5, W 6.5, S 7.5

But as she is main applicant right now, i can't help much more even i get clb9. Anyway in half year i will take it again if she don't get clb9 within this period, as i will be the main applicant.

Don't get disheartened. I got mine in the 5th attempt.

I am in the same situation. Turned 30 in Jan 2017 and had to make my wife the primary applicant. Given IELTS 4 times now. Lost by 0.5 in writing in 2 attempts. 0.5 in listening in 1 attempt and again by 0.5 in reading in the last attempt. Currently at 388 points. L8 S7 R7 W7 will get us to 432 and stand a chance of getting ITA. All the best to all taking the test in 25th March. This will my wife's 5th attempt.

I turned 30 in feb 2017 and entered the pool last week. My wife has a masters and got clb 9 in her first attempt. I got full points from her language and education

Did you practice between exams? If so for how much time between each attempt?

Best of luck to you and your wife.

Thanks for the wishes. I got 7.5 in the first attempt without any prep and was confident that by an hour practice I would get 8. Didn't happen. My overconfidence came back to bite me. I took things seriously between the 4th and 5th attempt with daily consistent practice. Before that I took things too lightly as for me it was just an English exam.

Sure thing :)

I did mine with a prep of under 10 hours (in total) and this time I'm focusing on a book called Common mistakes at IELTS advanced ... and how to avoid them and I noticed I made a lot of mistakes which I wasn't aware of.

Hopefully this time I get my CLB 9.

BTW, how much time was between your 4th and 5th attempt? Like a month or so?

Thanks again!

I gave 1 every month from October to February. Pls don't read mistakes and you will end up remembering mistakes. Work on what to do rather than what not to do.

Thanks, I'll just do that :)

My first attempt was on Mar 4th at L7 R8.5 W7.5 S7
Re-taking on the 8th

My only hope is PNP so I need to get clb9 to get into OINP.

I was so confident in listening and I thought I did not do well in reading but turned out the other way :)
