According to the CIC Guideline,
your IELTS score can be converted into like this.
CLB Level
Listening - 7
Reading - 8
Writing - 6
Speaking - 7
This means you just passed the minimum requirement.
(one 6, two 7s, one 8 )
But some agency is saying, you would better take the test again to get higher score to make sure (to be safe).
To be honest, I have no idea about this oppinion.
I just sent my application with the similar score with you (CLB level: One 6, two 7s, one 8 ), and waiting what will happen.
Does anyone have idea?
I faced a similar problem. I applied under A, and only got 7.5 overall. I met the minium requirements, but was uncomfortable. I felt that if my score was weak, even if it qualified, they may examine other aspects of my application with greater scrutiny. Technically, I met the requirement, so under their 'pass/fail' system, I should be ok. Nonetheless, to get peace of mind, I took it again and got 9s all around--which I should have done to begin with as a native english speaker.
you have to ask yourself the following:
1. are you totally comfortable with other aspects of your application?
2. Does this cause excessive delay, i.e., will waiting to take it again, waiting for the results, put your immigration status in jeopardy?
3. Do you have the funds? Personally, this should be the least of the issues. The first two are critical.
