How many bands overall and in each part (Listening/writing/speaking and reading) are required for OINP?

6 on each band to be elegible for Express Entry.

that will not get you anywhere... with 6 bands in each you will get like 300 points which is worthless... what you need to target are below
listening 8 (nothing less than 8, 7.5 will get you 50 points less)
reading 8
writing speaking 7

with these, and bachelors degree and if you are below 32 yrs of age you will be easily over 420 points, which is a great start.

that's very true

OINP requires 6 in each band of the IELTS (which is CLB 7). This is the same score that is required for EE.

Pascal.H specifically asked about the IELTS score required for OINP.
If he receives OINP, achieving max IELTS will make no difference because he will have the additional 600 points.

The question was what was needed to be eligible. 6 on each band is the minimum. What's needed from there to get X amount of points is another story

to receive PT from OINP, you still need atleast 400 points (could increase in teh future)
CLB 7 will get you around 350 points, which is not enough.

How many points CLB 7 gets you depends entirely on your other factors. OP could have a PhD and 5 years of Canadian work experience; he hasn't mentioned anything else in this thread, so we don't know.

CLB9 is required to maximise number of points... you can have a PHD but if you dont have good IELTS scores, overall points will still be less.

Yes, but if OP is aiming for OINP, he only needs 400 points. Once he receives OINP, the difference between starting with 400 points or starting with 450 will be completely pointless because he will have at least 1000 points either way, and is guaranteed ITA.

If he only needs CLB 7 to get OINP, then stressing about getting CLB 9 is just a waste of his time and energy.
