Its really disappointing to see 8 in 3 sections and 6.5 in writing. Really bad as it kicks you out of the league for 0.5 points

You probably have typed the candidate number incorrectly

I know how it feels. This looks exactly like my 3rd attempt with 8 in 3 sections and 6.5 in reading. Revaluation may help but it's a wait of 6-8 weeks and in that time you can have another go at IELTS. I took the test 5 times.

I gave 5 tests, one every month between October and February.

Here are the lessons learnt:

1. Don't book the next attempt at whim. Take time to improve your language potential if you are not comfortable with English.
2. In my case, English is my first language. I was overconfident and thought I could nail the score easily. Don't be overconfident and don't take your language abilities for granted. However good you are at English, you still need to practice. Overconfidence leads to an immediate dip in scores.
3. Be consistent with practice. It doesn't make sense to practice 1-2 days a week and then take a break. Make an effort to spend 2-3 hours daily.
4. Manage your time well. You can lose marks for running out of time and not completing the task.
5. Don't be afraid to ask for help. You can use online tests and get the reading and listening right or wrong. Get someone to check your writing and give you feedback. Find a speaking partner.
6. All sections are equally important. In my 3rd attempt, I got 8+ in listening, speaking and writing but 6.5 in reading. I thought reading was my weakness and focussed on that only. In the 4th attempt, reading score improved and all others dropped.

Don't get disheartened. I tried thrice

1st time - CLB 9 in 3 and CLB 10 in 1

2nd time - CLB 10 in 3 and CLB 9 in 1

3rd time - CLB 10 in all

To score 8 and above in writing, use some high vocabulary.

That's the key. Good luck

You don't need to score 8 in Writing. 7.5 or up gives you CLB 10

I had rather good experience when I gave IELTS for the 2nd time

R-7 W -7 S -7 L-8.5 (1st time in 2015)

R-8 W-7.5 S 7.5 L 9 (2nd time in 2017, had to reappear as IELTS expired for me)

Thanks a lot buddy, I tried my best but not sure how legitimate they are in giving the CLB 10 score to candidates. I will try to get the revaluation...

I will try my luck for revaluation. I gave test from IDP so they will send the paper to Australia. I know its a long process, so meanwhile I will keep my learning hat on to practice writing. Thanks again, love this forum as its really informative and lively.
