Hi All,

Apologies for initiating this thread here but in IELTS main thread, no one replied me. Hence, thought to seek help via this thread.

One of my best friends, is going to British Council's Office in Delhi for IELTS General Training exam prep. He is a little hesitant in speaking english. They are charging 13.5K for this - which is a huge amount.

What do you suggest in this? Should he spend money for this? How should he improve his speaking english ?

Please HELP.

Hello there,

I think what your friend is facing is a common problem, so he doesn't have to be worried about it.

As for the IELTS prep., its good with introducing the candidate for the exam, and clear any unknown information. But I don't think in such a short period it'll improve his language skills.

What worked for me best is watching movies, lots of them. This helped me gain vocabulary and build sound sentence.

Maybe he should start there, and at the same time seek a native english speaker to practice his english with, it'll ease his hesitation.
