Hi all,

Im sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the thread.

I have an academic IETLS which is sufficient to apply for CEC and still valid ( I got it when I want to go to school a year ago).
But I'm wondering do I need to do another IELTS test under 'General Training' or I can just use what I already have.

because its written like this under the language test :
IELTS has two options for the reading and writing tests: “General Training” and “Academic.” You must take the “General Training” option.

has anyone apply with the 'academic' one ?
is it okay ?

Thanks a lot.

If it says you have to do General Training, you have to do General Training.
Both General training and Academic exams are not the same and they are tested on different knowledge background.
When in doubt, stick to the instructions.

Well I guess I have to do another test, with general training option.
Thank you!

It's all relative. Sure CELPIP might be easier than IELTS, but that just means more people do well in it. At the end of the day, your performance relative to other people (regardless of the exam) determines your score, not the ease of the exam and if you're bad, regardless of how easy the exam was, you'll still get the same poor grade.

The institutions that administer these tests don't just give perfect scores to everyone who registers. It's all curved.

To answer OP's question, go with General as others said.
