I wrote EIGHTEEN SEPTEMBER 1978 but not sure it is correct or not as speaker said EIGHTEENTH SEPTEMBER 1978.can anyone suggest whether EIGHTEEN is correct or not??

It should be 18 September .... the question said write one word and/or a number

Thanksfor reply,but in my listening paper question asked for NO MORE THAN THREE WORDS AND/OR A NUMBER.
Therefore, I am highly confused as if they will accept EIGHTEEN instead of what speaker said EIGHTEENTH..
