Hey!

I have submitted my PR application along with a BOWP application. My IEC 2 year working holiday visa expires soon and i have an electronic travel authorisation thats valid for another couple of years.

I understand that, because i was on international experience canada, i am mot granted implied status in terms of being able to continue work. But do i have legal status as a visitor in canada? Im am from australia, a visa exempt country. Or do i need to visit the border and change my situation?
Thanks!!

Hey @CodeyJD

You are on implied status as soon as your IEC expires. They recently changed this for IEC participants so whoever told you it doesn't exist for IEC doesn't know about the new rules. You can keep working until you get your BOWP or PR but it has to be for the same employer until you get a new visa. If you leave the country after your IEC expires you give up your implied status and you cannot work until you return and receive your BOWP or PR. Here's the link for you:
