Hello!

I am in the process of applying for an employer specific work permit. My current visa (IEC Working Holiday Permit) will expire in two weeks.

I have two questions:

1. One of the supporting documents I need to upload is Proof that you Meet the Requirements of the Job Being Offered.
It's further explained as follows: If your intended occupation in Canada is regulated, provide evidence that the responsible provincial, territorial or professional body has granted you the required licence or certification.
I will be working as a youth social worker, which is not regulated. So I don't understand what I need to upload here?

2. Am I allowed to stay in Canada with implied status, as soon as my application for my work permit is submitted?

Thanks a lot in advance!

1. There is nothing you need to upload here since your profession isn't regulated. As an aside, I assume your employer has already obtained an approved LMIA.
2. You can remain in Canada but not work.

Thank you!

My employer has submitted an LMIA but it has not yet been approved. I found however that proof of submission is sufficient in my case:

"If your employer has requested a Labour Market Impact Assessment from ESDC and has not received the decision yet, you may be eligible to submit the proof of submission your employer received for the LMIA request. To be eligible to submit such proof, you must not be requesting restoration of your status and your status must be expiring in the next two weeks."

Hi again!

My current WHP will run out in a couple of days and I´ll likely won´t hear whether my work permit extension gets approved before that. I did not apply to extend my stay as a temporary resident, other than submitting my work permit. Is this sufficient for me to have implied status?

Thank you so much in advance!
