IEC Insurance Holiday

Hi,

I was lucky enough to be granted an IEC visa which will need to be activated before March 2019. I was intending to travel to Canada for a 2 week holiday in mid February and then come back to the UK for a little bit. However, I've read that insurance will only cover you to be out of Canada for a maximum of 21 days before it becomes void. Does anyone know if this is true and, if so, what the best way to activate the visa would be. Is it best to just prepare for a long term move in February rather than just a holiday. Also, does anyone know the best insurance companies to use?

Not supposed to recommend on here but have a look at True Traveller insurance who I believe may allow multiple trips home with no restriction on number or duration home visits.
