Hi everyone,

My partner wants to extend his IEC and switch from working holiday to young professionals. He already has a full-time job right now and they would support him through the process.

However, it is a requirement for Czechs to physically reside in Czech at the time of application. It's so frustrating since he doesn't want to stop working nor go home.

Has anyone from Czech or with similar requirements done this before?

Thanks,

Lisa

I don't believe there's any way around this. He won't be extending his work permit - that's not possible. He will actually be applying for a brand new work permit through YP. As you've said, the application requires that a person be living there.
