You haven't really provided enough information (two years experience at WHAT? 40 points for WHAT?) but if you mean 2 years' experience in Canada, 40 points is the right amount for that.

1 year of Canadian experience is 40 points
2 years is 53 points

I had 2 yrs of full time exp in canada. So for 2 yrs the points should be 53. I worked 3 months in 1 company after that i had 2 months break. I got other job and im working in the company until now. When i entered these details in ee i got only 40 points instead of 53. It is only caluculating my present work exp and excluding the work i did for 3 months coz of 2 months break. Is there any way i can get my points to 53

So it seems the rules are ridiculous again! How can this be done in whole years, I have one month short of 2 years as when I landed it took me a month to find a job. so I lose 13 points because whichever idiot made up the rules obviously doesn't take into account time spent looking for work. It should be monthly

I think experience should be continuous with out any gaps.

Yes for Canadian experience it must be continuous.

15. (3) b. consists of continuous full-time work experience or the full-time equivalent for part-time work experience

Who ever created these rules are just dumb f.... If i join in a diff company then the year that i worked are not counted its all FFff
