Hi,

My employer wants to hire me as driver for his truck company. It includes long haul and small truck also.

He is ready to send me employment offer / job offer. But I want to know is there any eligibility for this job? As I don't have truck driving license. Can my employer still hire me if I don't have driving license of truck in my country. Also is there any IELTS requirement, do my education also matters in this kind of job offer?

Please guide me. Regards

1. Your employer would have to get a LMIA for you as a truck driver, and as you have no experience it will not be issued. If s/he is asking for money it is a scam.

No it's not a scam and not even my employer demanding any money from me.. He want to hire me for his trucking company as driver. But he want to know if I am not eligible what other way he can hire me as we have good bonding with each other and he wants to hire me only. So is it possible to get LMIA even if I don't have experience nor have truck driver license. Is there any possibility if he demonstrate he will pay all costs of mine etc.. I means any alternative? I also have sufficient funds to support myself. Please provide more information?

The issue your to be employer will have with getting an LMIA approved is that given you have no licence you are simply not a qualified applicant for the job. As an employer they have to show first no qualified Canadian or PR is available, if not that the candidate, you, is qualified which you are not.

Nothing to stop you getting licence to drive trucks which you do not even have in your home country anyway.

If it were this easy for immigration then everyone would just do the same and get job offers for jobs they are not qualified for. Does this employer not have a job that you are qualified for ?

Or just look at one of the other streams http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp

At a minimum, you need to get licensed first. Even once you are licensed, hard to say if the LMIA / work permit will be approved given you have no work experience. It makes no sense why the employer wants to hire you and can't hire a Canadian since you have no license and no work experience.

My employer and me has friendly relation i.e. he wants to hire me. Sometimes nearer one's can't touch your heart and the far away one's touch your heart and this is the reason he wants to hire me. He basically wants someone trustworthy and honest. My main asset is my honesty and decency for which he always like in me. He has Canadian driver also, but he said Canadians don't like to drive a truck here usually they feel themselves cheap work of driving truck i.e. plenty of long haul trucks are parked ideal in Canada and every year Canada is immigrating huge number of people including drivers.................Do you think I should talk with CIC direct or it won't be a good move. OR should my employer first apply for LMIA on his behalf if got LMIA I believe then it won't be difficult to obtain work visa.

But you are just not qualified for the job whether the employer is a friend or not they still need to advertise and prove that you as a candidate without a licence to drive a truck are qualified as a candidate for a truck drivers job. If you are happy for the employer friend to spend 1000 cdn on an LMIA application which is unlikely to get approved until you have a licence and experience then go ahead, good luck.

Even if you could easily talk to CIC they will give the same answer you are not a qualified experienced truck driver. For sure do not misrepresent your abilities as that could lead to an extended ban from Canada

You can't talk to CIC about your application.

First your employer must advertise the job according to the LMIA advertising requirements.

Your then employer needs to obtain the LMIA. It may be approved for may be refused. You cannot apply for the LMIA on his behalf. He is the one that needs to apply.

If the LMIA is approved, you then need to apply for a work permit. Again, it may be approved or it may be refused based on your profile.

Bs65 how he will advertise first. Because I was already asking what can be done in this. If he already advertised it I might not ask question here lol.

If he already advertised the role, it's pretty much guaranteed that the advertising he did does not meet the minimum advertising requirements for an LMIA. He will have to research the LMIA advertising requirements and then make sure the advertising he does meets the minimum requirements. If he does not advertise as required - the LMIA will be refused.
