I have been withdrawn from my study program (in the 2nd semester) due to failing 2 classes. What are my options now?
Students in the same boat as I am were offered a 1 year General Arts program (which supposevely will let me maintain student status).

At the same time, I will be applying for a sponsorship PR (I got married to a Canadian citizen) in about 2 or 3 weeks. Ideally for me I would want to take this 1 semester off and then try to apply to a university in the winter semester. Could this work and would me taking this semester off be “covered” by the 150 days rule?

You can take the semester off but you can't work since you're no longer attending classes.
