Hello all,

I just wanted to share my oath experience. There are about 300 people taking the oath the same day. We got there 30 minutes before the time indicated on our invitation letter, and there was already a long line at the door.

Once inside they had a long set of tables along the back wall where you check in. They checked my imm5292 and took my PR card, they also used my drivers license to verify identity. We then signed a paper and we were given a pin, a flag a booklet(with oath/national anthem) 1 book with facts of canada and our 1 year pass to canadian museums.

It took about 2-3 hours to get everyone settled in, the ceremony itself was maybe 20-30 minutes and then we were given our canadian citizenship certificate.

I am glad that i am now done with any immigration matters, after more than 5 years of being in this country i can now vote and travel to my hearts content without fear of not being able to come home to canada!

Good luck to everyone waiting, it might be long but it is sure worth it!

Thanks for sharing your experience. When was your exam? Trying to get a sense of wait time between exam and oath. I wrote my exam in Montreal end of August

I got my oath invite in the mail a month and 10 days after test. Actual test was 7 weeks after test.

my test was end of July, got invite end of august, oath was this week.

thanks for your response. In my test they said to everyone oath would be 2 to 4 months after exam. Was it the same for you? Seems yours was faster than what they implied in my test

Thanks everyone!

At my test they also said, that if every was approved by Judge, we would get test invite in 2-4 months.

Mine was about a month after test, and a friend of min had his oath 2 weeks after test.

So the time varies.... depending on what? im not sure.
