How to withdraw old application while the new application is already processed

Hello experts,

We had sent my daughters pr card for renewal in nov. 2015 for urgent processing but it was sent back because of a missing signature. She signed it and we sent it back but did not write urgent on the envelope. After waiting for a month when we called Cic call centre the agent told us that the application has probably gone into normal processing so we should make another urgent application and send it as we had to travel. We did as advised and now the new application is approved and the card is sent to local office and we have an appointment to pick it next month.

Today we received an e mail from Cic that they have received her application ( I think they opened the old one now). We really don't know what to do. How do we withdraw this application. Do we call the Cic call centre, or send a letter? Have no idea???

We'll be very grateful for any kind of help..
