Hello. :)
I am a Pakistani and processing for Temporary Work Permit Via a Consultant in Pakistan. I need to Verify the LMO letter, whether it is genuine or not? Is there any Official Website provided by CIC to verify LMO letter? If not, please suggest me any way. Calling the Employer is not a good choice infact, as the employer will never tell you that LMO is fake, as he might be fake Employer along with fake LMO letter (this is my doubt ).

Secondly, How long it takes to apply and get LMO letter?

Your Help will be highly Appreciated. Thank you So much :)

It takes approximately two months to obtain an approved LMO. No - there is no web site where you can verify the authenticity of an LMO.

I think you may call HRSdc and give them the LMO number and check it

and no LMO take at least 4.5 months now

4 and a half months? Are you serious? Does this include the 4 weeks advertising requirement? There's no way that I can wait that long for my LMO.

Thank you so much guys for replying me. Your answers are really appreciated. Thanks a lot.
What is Hrsdc, can you pelase send me the link of official website.

Can we make call to immigration department to make enquiry about genuineness of LMO.

Thank you so much

Hey guys,

My former employer applied for an LMO last January 2014 and until now there's no outcome, wether it's negative or positive...

So it's been 5 months with no result! Gesshhhh...my friends/co-workers went home already because they were out of status.

LMO time frames vary by province, employer's reputation, particular job vacancy and a lot of other factors.

I am from Pakistan (along with at least 3 other friends of mine - and we all moved to Canada between time frames of early 2013 to Mid 2014. Most of our LMO's took between 15 days to a little over a month. This does not include advertising requirements because the specified jobs are listed on employer's website mostly for a year or two - since they needed multiple people and the specified skill sets were hard to find.

Your LMO would have a number that can be verified by HRSDC. Generally LMO should list a person's name, salary, passport number, date of birth as well as few terms of employment. I am not sure how much that varies by province - but if you don't have any of the info mentioned - it should be concerning.

Of course there was never a consultant involved, nor was there any fee paid by the employees.
