How to update passport

Hi all,

I´m sure this has been asked before but I couldn´t find anything here or on the CIC website. I expect to get my inland PR in the next few months. However, my passport was expiring in January so, adviced by CIC, who told me I wouldn´t get PR with less than six months left on my passport, I renewed it. My question is: now what? I can´t find anything on their website on how to update a document like that. What process do I follow?

Quick question, in the form, should I use the option "replace a document" or go with the kind of application, i.e. "family sponsorship"?
