How to show OPT internship

I spent 6 months after my graduation as an unpaid research intern under my professor, before I found a job. This was in the US under the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program. Do I show this period as employment or as part of education? Can anyone advise please.

Education. Since it was unpaid, it doesn't count as work experience.
