Hello :)
We are almost finished with our application and will be sending it in this month. I saw on the website that we cannot put it in a folder or staple the sheets together. Can I put each form and corresponding extra documents in individual plastic sheaths? Or do the papers have to be left loose? Can I use a trombone at least to keep documents together? Stupid question I know, but I don't want precious time wasted if I send it in and they take more time because it isn't as easily accessible. Can I send the complete application in a box, or is it better a padded envelope?
Thank you

You can do a search as people do it in different ways, but the rule of thumb is not to add extra packaging. We just used the checklist, and put all the papers into one pile in order. I used a few paper clips to group some sections together, and clipped the whole thing with a big binder clip to keep it together in the envelope. Keep in mind that they have to scan everything into the system, so you don't want to make it extra difficult for them.

Another useful thing is to use those stick-on flags on the side to draw attention to each section. Keeps it organized with minimal extra packaging.

I put mine in three different envelope/folders. 1. Applicant's documents 2. Sponsor's documents 3. Proof of relationship documents.
I purchased a large box (the fold up type) at Canada Post and they taped the box for me there.

Some people use the large manilla folders. My proof of relationship documents were too thick for one of those envelopes. I didn't feel comfortable just putting all the papers semi loose in a box. My folders were by Mead and it had one velcro tab on the front. Easy to open. I got them at Staples.

Everyone does it differently, but I read a lot and there were many people who divided their documents in three different envelope/folder.

It's a good idea to get tracking & a signature for mailing.

Good Luck! It feels so great to get it mailed

just another quick question while I'm here. If by some miracle we are approved in less than 8 months, how long after we have his entry visa and permanent resident papers, can we wait before coming to canada?( we are both students here in Belgium and cannot leave until the school year is done, so end of july at the earliest)
