How to prove that one has applied for a bridging open work permit?

Hi all,

My wife has applied for permanent residency as well as a bridging open work permit. She applied before her current work visa expired. Her current social insurance number has expired as well as her post-graduate work visa. We moved within Canada and she has applied for some jobs and they have been asking for proof. How does she prove that she's eligible to work in Canada with an expired SIN number? She gave links to the CIC website and Service Canada but this seems not to be enough proof.

Kind Regards,
Dave From Canada

She will have to wait until she receives the BOWP and is able to renew her SIN. She can continue working for her existing employer since she has implied status. But I think looking for a new employer is out until the BOWP is approved.

The CIC told her she could continue working because of:

Paragraph 186(u) and section 189 of the "Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulation" continue working under the same conditions (which was an open work permit).

Unfortunately, it's not possible to proof it in this scenario short of having a valid work permit(which she needs to renew her SIN) or permanent resident status.

She has implied status which allows her to continue to stay in Canada until CIC makes a decision on her work permit application. However, since she has since moved, she can not work until she has her new work permit. The reason is she has changed conditions i.e. she no longer works for the same employer(the one she was working for using her post-graduate work permit). If she was, an expired SIN and the links from CIC would suffice because it would allow her to continue working under the same conditions.

Agreed. SenoritaBella explained it better than I did.
