How to Prove Residence During time I was waiting on OWP

Hello. I was sponsored for PR by my husband. I couldn't work here for about a year and a half while I was here as a visitor (with extension) until I received my Open Work Permit. If I apply for Citizenship, I am wondering how am I going to prove that I was actually in Canada during that year and a half. My travel history at the border should suffice, shouldn't it? I haven't left Canada at all since August of 2017 and I know the days as a visitor are counted as half days..so I need those days...any suggestions as to how I should try to prove I was here other than my travel history report?

You just have to mention the days to be counted for your Citizenship application in the Physical Presence calculator which you will submit with your application. IRCC validates this as part of the Citizenship application process. You don't have to attach any proof for this with your application.

Travel history should mostly be enough. In case IRCC is not satisfied with that alone, then these things could be of use:

1. Try to remember any vacations you took and stayed in hotels and note down those dates and any receipts/bookings if you have.
2. Try to remember and note down any visit to Clinics/Doctors. (IRCC most likely has access to this already).
3. Credit card statements would be of some help.
4. If you have enabled location tracking on your phone, by any chance if you with android phones, you can see where and you visited in the google maps.
5. Even going over phone records (calls/messages) might be of some use to remember.

Maybe no need to track what you did everyday, but few days/events (like mentioned above) if you could show that you were in Canada, I think that should be fine.
