Hi Guys,

First let me explain my situation..

My Wife got her PhD admission @ Mcgill. So, I had to processed my dependent visa along with my wife's student visa. Both were issued the Visa. But now the issue is i had been given with Visitor Visa(TRV) instead of Open Work Permit. When i contacted my agent he was saying now a days Canada consulate is not issuing open work permit from India so he is advising me to apply for OWP from Canada.

Now, i am confused and would like to know the following details.

1. Can i rely on my agent words?
2. What are the chances of getting OWP from India?
3. If i process my OWP from Canada what are all the chances of getting the Visa?
4. Can i process my visa Immediately(in couple of days time) after i reach Canada?
5. What will be the Processing time if i apply from Canada?
6. What documents should i produce if i apply OWP from Canada?

Looking forward for your valuable information.

Vikris

1. Yes.
2. Nil, you get it when you and your spouse enter Canada at the Port of Entry.
3. If you are eligible, i.e. your wife has a valid study permit.
4. You should get it on entry Canada, if not, the processing time in Canada is about 78 days through Vegreville.
5. In Canada, you need proof of your spouse's study permit.
