How to pay for immigration fees???

Hi Guys!

I'm stuck on the last step before we hand in our application (I am sponsoring my husband from the US).

I want to pay for the fees and I tried doing that on the CIC website but it asked for my name and address and said that the receipt form would be mailed to my house. I don't know what will be mailed to my house and how long it will take. Does anyone know? And what do I do with this form? Pay it at the bank?

I thought i could print out the Receipt 5401 online and have my choice of paying online or at the bank. Which option is easier and less hassle?

paying online is much faster and hassle free.
you just have to pay the required fee for sponsorship.
If it asks you to register name & address , give your name(sponsor) and your address.

pay with your credit card. print 2 copies of the receipt and attach along with your application.
you will not get any receipt my mail. instead you will get in your email as an attachment.

after they have used your application fees , they will send you a AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) along with UIC and application number.

Thanks so much guys! I could not find that link anywhere. Paying online would be alot easier for us since we do not want to wait 2-3 weeks for the receipt to be received in the mail.

Can i pay the fee now and submit my application next week? Or should I wait until the day before I submit my application?

You can pay it now, it won't expire. Make sure you also pay the RPRF fee - if sponsoring just your husband I think the total should equal $1040

parker24, you are spot on. if you can't pay online, it has to be done the way it was done before the changes in 2011 to the procedure and the barcoded PDFs. you had the paper copy of the receipt in your sponsorhsip kit that you took to the bank and they processed it for you. now they don't send those sponsorship kits out anymore, but will send you the receipt document by mail if you can't pay online.

IMM 5401 receipt is only when u dont want to pay online. for online payment u dont need tht. just follow the instructions on the above link. additionally, this is wht i found on cic, "If you cannot or do not want to pay online, you must get an original receipt of payment form IMM 5401 so you can pay at a financial institution (such as a bank or Western Union). This form is not available online, so you must order an original receipt by mail. I guess, u clicked for IMM 5401, thts y it asked u for ur mailing address.
