How to get a job offer with same qualifications

Hi.
Just finally having the confidence to apply to move after years of being scared!
our issue is that I am a counsellor and psychotherapist with 15 yrs work experience in field of addiction.

however when I’m looking for jobs in Vancouver it seems that these jobs are for mental health nurses only.

anyone come across this issue of jobs and qualifications not matching up? Any ideas?

Are you licensed in the province to work as a psychotherapist or nurse? Do you have a work permit? That would be the first step is to look at having your qualifications assessed. Assume you have completed ECA and IELTS.

You need a job offer and your employer needs to file for and pay $1k for a LMIA. The LMIA shows that no Canadian or PR could be hired. Then with LMIA, you apply for a closed work permit. For the permit, you show that you are experienced and most likely licensed to do the job.

Are you able to get licensed in Canada? Are you under 40?
