Hey everyone

I have a quick question about declaring gig work experience in Canada for Express Entry Profile.

I’ve worked with several delivery and rideshare apps — Uber, Lyft, Uber Eats, DoorDash, and SkipTheDishes — during and after my studies. All of it was legit self-employment income (paid through app deposits and some cash tips).

I’m not sure how to properly mention this in my application.

Do I need to list each app separately with different dates?

Or can I just combine everything under one entry like “Self-Employed – Food Delivery & Rideshare Driver”?

Also, what documents are usually accepted to prove this type of work? (T4A slips, CRA tax records, bank deposits, app payment summaries, etc.)

If anyone has declared similar gig work before or knows the best way to do it, please share your experience

Would really appreciate any guidance or examples!

So this is being claimed as foreign experience because it is not considered Canadian experience.

No i am just asking as if i should disclose it and how to disclose it is there any specific format.
Should i mention every app’s starting dates etc etc

Hello,

I am looking to know how do I list uber eats, skip the dishes, doordash part time which I did in the evenings sometimes or weekends?
What dates I should put? Full year or it has to be exact dates? Can I put all in one or separate them? Also if I did for three years, Should i list them separately for each year or all together?

Please any advise help would be greatly appreciated on urgent basis.

Hi. You can combine this into a single entry under your Personal History, listing just the duration in years. For example: Self-Employed Delivery Driver (Uber Eats, DoorDash) – Part-Time

I’d also appreciate any advice from people who have used https://lyft.pissedconsumer.com/review.html and can share their experiences with Lyft, especially regarding gig work and reporting income.

I’d keep the information as accurate and straightforward as possible. If the different apps were used during the same periods and the work was essentially the same, you may be able to describe it under one self employment entry, while clearly listing the apps and dates in the description. If the dates or nature of the work were significantly different, separate entries may make more sense. For supporting documents, keep CRA tax records, T4A slips where applicable, Notices of Assessment, bank statements, app earnings statements, and any other records showing your work periods and income. Make sure everything matches what you reported to CRA.
