Hi...i landed toronto on 13th Nov with wife and son....trying to settle down....i got a problem....as per my sons birth certificate and passport, he does not possess any surname, and his given name is EDWIN EMMANUEL ABY...but in his CPR form they entered his name as his surname and left the given names' space empty....what should i do....and where to approach for this...

Please advice me..thanking u...

Hi Abytoms,

I have the same problem, my opinion would be, firstly make a name change in the passport, so that there is a given name and a surname. You will have a problem with the PR card as there is no surname. So once you get the passport changed, you ca re-apply for the PR card with both names. I have been given to understand that in North America both names are essential for identification.
