If you are filling out a skilled worker application right now and you are thinking about what city to put down, it doesn't really matter because you can change it later BUT it does matter if it is in Quebec. They have their own immigration rules so if you apply as federal skilled worker, you can not land in Quebec. If you want to live in Quebec, you must apply for Quebec skilled worker instead.

The language can definitely be a problem for you if your English is not good. You should go to http://jb-ge.hrdc-drhc.gc.ca/ and look around for jobs. If there are good job possibilities for you in Quebec, go there. If not, you have to choose which is better, language problem or unemployment. If you go to an English speaking city, there are always language classes available for new immigrants so you can work on it.

Hi Leon,

If I apply as a Federal Skilled Worker and I found an Arranged Employment in Alberta, Manitoba, or BC, MUST I COME TO THE PROVINCE THAT I HAVE THE ARRANGED EMPLOYMENT TO LIVE THERE WHEN I LAND IN CANADA? I mean whether I can live in other provinces such as, Newbrunwich, Yukon,...

When you are FSW, I don't think you have to land in that province but then again, the AEO is apart of your points. I can't say for sure. You can ask the embassy/visa office.

Re: how to choose a good city to land in canada!

Thanks Leon!

Anyone else knows for sure about this issue, please help!!!
