how to calculate CLB level ??

Guys i have question that i didn't get from anywhere.
We all know if we get 6 bands in each module then it will be CLB level 7..
But..
How to convert different band scores into CLB level ?
Lets assume
Listening - 8.5
Reading - 6.5
Speaking - 6
Writing 5.5

that is what i said. for calculating CLB level in individual language skill area(reading, writing etc) find out in which CLB level it occurs according to the mapping. for example if your Reading is 9 and if you check the link reading :9 occurs at CLB 12, hence CLB in reading is 12. hope this helps

mine is overall 7

L -7.5 S-7 W -7 R 6.5

and it comes out to be CLB 8

i wonder why would you need overall CLB level considering the fact that for EE points calculation we have to calculate CLB for each language skill area. this is true both for core/human capital factors and skills transferibility factors.

i'd doubt if there is an overall CLB level based on overall ielts band(or even individual). but i'd guess if you want to have overall CLB level then just find out the CLB level from the link i posted earlier which satisfies your individual score. the point where they match or are less will be your CLB level. for e.g say you have score of 8/7/7/7 then this happens at CLB 9. then your overall CLB is 9

My understanding is that each individual band corresponds to a CLB score and you should add up the CLB score for each band to arrive at your final score for language:

e.g IELTS score / corresponding CLB score
Listening 7.00/ CLB: 7
Reading 7.00 /CLB: 9
Speaking 7.00 /CLB: 9
Writing 6.50 /CLB: 8

Equivalent EE score (if applying without a spouse):
Listening 7.00/ CLB: 7 : EE score: 16
Reading 7.00 /CLB: 9 : EE score: 29
Speaking 7.00 /CLB: 9 : EE score: 29
Writing 6.50 /CLB: 8 : EE score: 22

Total points : 96
