I am in Canada from last 6 months. My wife died while giving birth to child. Now, I want to sponsor my son.
Can some one please let me know that which forms I have to fill to bring my son.i.e As I dont have any spouse then will this come under sponsoring member of a family or some thing else?
I read CIC website but got confuse as most of the forms are for spouse.
Do I have to sign on the forms of my son ( as he is just few months old)?
Do I have to fill Im0008 (Background/Decleration) for myself as well to let them know that my wife is died?
Thanks in advance for advice.
Regards.

I am SO sorry for your loss, you must be devastated. You will sponsor your son using the same application package that you'd use to sponsor a spouse - because it's also for dependent children. Your son, even though he is only a few months old, will be the principle applicant. Some of the forms will not be applicable, but include any that have any applicability to the sponsorship. You'll definitely want to include a copy of the child's birth certificate, and also the death certificate for your wife. No, you wouldn't fill out the IMM0008 for yourself - and it probably wouldn't be applicable to your son, but I would also include a cover letter telling them that your wife died during childbirth.

The process for sponsoring a child doesn't take as long as sponsoring a spouse or other family member. You can find the different embassy timelines at this link.

Thanks for your response.
Can some one please let me know that do I have to submit only forms in mississga office, or I have to send the documents as well with the forms?
and If I have to send the documents with forms to mississga, then should I send orignals or attested copies of all documents?
Thanks in advance for advise.
Regards

Where was your son born, and where is he now? What is your status in Canada?

I am in Canada as a PR card holder.
My son was born back home after my landing. He is still in pakistan.

You submit all the forms to CPC-Mississauga. Complete and sign all the sponsor's forms yourself, and all the applicant's forms on behalf of your son. Nothing you send will need to be original, as your son won't need any police certificates, but you do need to send copies of all the documents they require in the application guide. Someone back in Pakistan will have to get your son's medical done before you apply though. For a family class sponsorship you send that all together up front.

Note you will need to remain living in Canada while the PR application for your son is processed. As a PR you have to be living in Canada to be able to sponsor.
