Good Day everyone -

RE: Spouse sponsorship application

I have been searching the forums with no luck.

Does anyone have any advice on how to assemble the application?

I am aware that both the sponsorship application and Permanent residency application have to be mailed together with the medical etc..

However, does anyone have any advice on how they assembled theirs?

I am a very organized person and I feel like I need a table of contents and tabs to organize everything wedding pics, documents, proof of relationship, communication back and forth, plane tickets etc.

We have been together for 5 years and we have A LOT of proof to send in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

all i did was clip all the sponsor's stuff together, clipped the applicants stuff to the relationship proof, and clipped the 2 stacks together. i used 1 envelope and sent it in. there was no index, no separator, no table of contents, no introduction letter, nothing of that sort. in my opinion, i don't think it's worth over thinking how to organize it. generally what cic does is tear it all a part and organize it per their protocols/checklists. those who have been unfortunate in getting their application sent back have reported the forms were all taken out of whatever folder/binder they were in and completely reorganized, and not very neatly. to me, stressing about all of that is just a waste of time, effort and energy.

as long as all the information that is requested is there, it doesn't matter how it's organized.

Clips? As in the large black clips? Bc my proof is way too much for paper clips :)

I do feel I am over thinking it but I am a very organized person. Sometimes being organized bites you in the bum bum.

You just scared me a bit with CIC sending applications back. >.<

This thread would be hugely helpful to you. Good luck! You will be super proud when it is all together and it will feel like a work of art!

It won't bite you in the bum if you're organized. On the other hand, you be sloppy or lazy with your application, and it could bite you in the bum in the form of an interview request.

i think i used paperclips and small binder clips.

I used paper clips to keep imm papers together that had more than one page. I used small binder clips for small sections, and giant binder clip for the relationship proof section, then one huge special elastic to keep to all together in its entirety.
I used coloured paper for tables of contents, and explaining what was in a particular section. I had different levels of coloured papers for these tables of contents- main app table of contents in yellow, primary sections table of contents in orange, secondary in print table of contents, etc etc. I found it was extremely organized, very easy to follow, and stayed together nicely. Although large, it wasn't overly bulky. It felt like a work of art LOL!

Hi Mariac819

I recently did my application and I can share with you the templates for table of contents / cover letter for the different categories. This should give you an idea. You can ping me your email id and I will send you the document.

Good luck !

Well, `assembling' the application is about 100 times more difficult than assembling something from IKEA!

Good luck!

Hi

Here is the one I went by to organize my application and I am sure others used it as well

Thank you very much everyone!

I notice most of you guys use peper clips or binder clips and no one mentions using staples, is it ok to staple the forms or documents together?

No staples.

They make it hard to remove them and could rip the papers. Don't use staples.

No staplers! No bookbinding! Use paperclips or binder clips instead
