Applied SIN with Record of Landing, expired PR card and passport at Service Canada, was told can not apply without a valid PR card. Any help? Thank you.
Do you mean Record of Landing, or COPR? If COPR they were right as it can't be over 1 year old.
If you did become a PR before 2002 and only have Record of Landing, then only reason I can think of is they are applying the same 1 year rule of COPR to Record of Landing. You are right though there is no rule here around Record of Landing so perhaps you can try at another SIN office and bring in the rules to show them. Maybe it's just their general practice that after 1 year of becoming PR, a valid PR card is the only acceptable proof.
