Hello all
Actually my uncle has just received citizenship of Canada.
I heard that i can apply for citizenship also if he sponsor us. ( I haven't been to Canada in my life so no PR card)

1) So can you please tell me am i eligible to apply for citizenship and is he eligible to sponsor me or he can only sponsor his brother/sister/parents/children?
2) If he can direct sponsor me then after how many years i can get Canada citizenship?
3) If he is NOT eligible to sponsor me directly then if my parent(his sister) apply and after that am i eligible to apply ? and for that pathway after how many years i will get citizenship?

You cannot be sponsored for citizenship, only PR card. I am a naturally born Canadian citizen sponsoring my common-law partner for PR status. She is looking forward to applying for citizenship as well, but you can't skip right to that point. You have to be a PR first.

If your uncle has a wife, kids, or any other family living in Canada, or his parents are still alive anywhere in the world... then he can't sponsor you or your mom for PR. In general Canadians can ONLY sponsor spouses, their own children, or parents.

You will need to find a way to immigrate to Canada on your own, get PR status, and after living here for 4 years as a PR, then you could apply for citizenship.
